I used the Alfred Hotel for accommodation, as I had a family member in the hospital, and this was within walking distance. I sadly didn't get time to eat at the hotel, but I wish I had, as the food looked great and it was always busy. The staff was super helpful, friendly, and kind. I stayed on Tuesday night, the 17th of December 2024, for $90. I got a decent room for just myself. Came with queen bed, tv, and fan. The bub is very old and has no air conditioning to the rooms, and the rooms could do with dome TLC, but it did the job, and I would stay again. The bed was super comfy. I've never stayed in a bed, that was so comfy, I wanted to take it home 🤣🤣 lol. The accommodation part is not wheel chair friendly at all. There was a ladies and men's shared bathroom, which, again, were very old, but it did the job and had locks on all the doors. There is a kitchen and laundry area provided as well. Its not a 5 star resort, and they don't promote themselves as such, but they are friendly, kind, helpful, and close to the hospitals for a cheap price if you are on a budget or struggling. Would definitely stay again if I needed to, and hopefully, next time, I'll get to try the food.

We had a right laugh last night, staff is friendly and we enjoyed the old fashioned look of this place. Guinness was a bit thin but tasted good, long way from Ireland anyway!

Steak sandwich very ordinary...Atmosphere dead as a football..this was on a Saturday early evening.. I was staying close by at Rdyes Travel Lodge...

The Alfred Hotel feels like the perfect mix between old and new. It has some of the classic features of the older style pubs. Tiles. Trough. Beer Posters. Then it has large screen TVs, a good menu, a dining area, 18 beers and ciders on tap, coffee machine, and bright decor. Thanks for a great experience.

Slightly elevated pub grub that’s pretty tasty, good range of craft beer on tap. Really like their scallop & prawn linguine. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and dog friendly too. Worth returning!
