Our recent dining experience was unfortunately quite disappointing. The service was consistently slow and unfriendly throughout our meal. We encountered several issues: - We were initially given sparkling water instead of the tap water we requested. The sparkling water was then taken away without explanation after it was poured into our cups... they were rude about how they go with it. -When our wine was served, only two glasses were brought to the table, despite there being four of us drinking and had to be reminded twice to bring it over. - the staff member mistakenly ordered a double portion of pasta. When we brought this to the manager's attention, she was condescending and sarcastic. She implied we had ordered the extra dish and then acted as if she was doing us a favor by removing it from the bill, even though we didn't eat it and it was their mistake. -When we were ready to pay, the staff at the cashier were engaged in a loud and distracting conversation, ignoring our attempts to get their attention. The food itself was average and certainly not worth the high prices charged. Overall, we found the experience to be very disappointing and would not recommend this restaurant.

We back after 1 year in one of our favourite restaurant in Melbourne. As always the food and atmosphere were fantastic. The taste of the food is something incredible. Highly recommend. Our waitress Ilenia was very professional and friendly. Davide the chef always amazing. Absolutely 5 starts! We come back for sure! Thank you so much!

Warm and sophisticated interior with food and service to match! All dishes were interesting, tasted fantastic and were cohesive together no matter what you pick. The staff were lovely and very knowledgeable regarding the menu. Great place for a date night. Looking forward to coming back and trying more!

I came here for a ‘late’ Valentine’s’ Day date with my girlfriend, as we both had plans on the day of, and all I have to say is wow. I mean I’ve been here before, and I knew after I ate the cacio e pepe tortellini, that I would definitely be back. Although, after ordering two chefs selections for this special occasion, I really am left speechless at how beautifully run and organised this restaurant is. The food selection, quality and creativity is incredible. The drinks list is carefully thought out and not too expensive. Cocktails are made very well, and the atmosphere is lovely. The manager/owner also made sure we were accommodated well which was nice to see. Overall the partnership between the BOH & FOH is smooth and obviously communicative. I Will be coming back here until I’m old and can barely eat without help. 10/10

We started with some well-executed starters: the spaghetti croquettes had a crisp golden shell with a creamy, cheesy center, and the prosciutto was silky and full of flavour. For mains, we shared two standout pasta dishes. The seafood spaghetti was perfectly al-dente, with a beautifully balanced sauce and just the right amount of spice to elevate each bite. The gnocchi with pork sausage were soft, pillowy bites of joy, rich yet refined, with layers of flavour in every mouthful. The side salad with pear was a refreshing contrast to the richness of the pasta. A bonus is that Al Dente offers BYO, so we brought a bottle of champagne. Corkage is $30, which is pretty much the standard rate for a venue of this caliber, so it’s worth taking advantage of if you have a nice bottle to pair with your meal. With a warm, modern ambiance perfect for date night and attentive service, Al Dente Enoteca delivers a refined take on classic Italian flavours. 4.5/5 – A must-visit for pasta lovers.
