Stylish and sumptuous We went here for our anniversary for the second sitting 8.30 pm. From the moment we were called into the restaurant ( yes they run two very separate sittings) we felt special. They knew it was a special night and gave us a great table along the wall with plenty of space around us. The host looking after our table was absolutely amazing nothing too much trouble. The sommelier had the right balance of friendliness and knowledge. Good wine list . The set Menu was excellent we swapped out the kangaroo for a roasted leek combo and it was good ( so vegetarians the menu is flexible) the abalone and cod dishes really excellent, oysters very fresh. Bread amazing and cheese tart good. The dinning room has a lovely atmosphere and it’s a nice space to be in. Bathroom good. We got a ride to Surry Hills and had a drink at Jane prior to dinner which is own by same group. Good place for a date and tables for four, six and eight. I liked this restaurant. Love your local guide - M❤️

Arthur in Surry Hills offers a memorable dining experience with its stylish yet cozy ambiance. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food is exceptional, with fresh, local ingredients and creative dishes like the lamb saddle and bay bug, each beautifully presented. The wine selection pairs perfectly with the menu, and the dessert is a must-try. Whether for a special occasion or a casual night out, Arthur delivers a top-notch experience.

Definitely a must try for a special occasion or just because you want to give it a try. You won’t regret it. My partner and I dined at Arthur on Sunday for our anniversary and it was the perfect place to celebrate our milestone. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. The service was impeccable - friendly without being intrusive and staff incredibly knowledgeable. All of the courses were perfectly balanced, delicious and displayed creatively and elegantly. While all the dishes were memorable the standouts for me was the bay bug, cheese tart and dessert. My partner also throughly enjoyed her lamb. I genuinely appreciated the substitutions for myself based on preference: olive oil instead of butter and fish instead of meat. The staff’s genuine passion for the finer details truly shines through. Highly recommend.

My partner noticed that I wasn’t feeling great, so he took me to Arthur, and it turned out to be a huge success. This restaurant offers two types of courses, and we chose the Chef’s Menu. From the moment we entered, the staff at the entrance were incredibly kind and welcoming. We had a reservation, and our table was right in front of the kitchen, so we could watch the chefs prepare the dishes, which made the experience even better. Arthur is known for using Australian ingredients, so we were really looking forward to it. Starting with the sourdough and cultured butter, everything was delicious. The tuna belly, which came as a small bite, was so good that I want to have it again while writing this. Every dish was memorable, but the standout for us was the bay bug dish. The texture of the bay bug paired perfectly with the slightly firm kale, making it the best dish for us as seafood lovers. For dessert, I’m not a fan of pears, so we ordered the cheese tart as an additional option, and it was amazing. The wine pairing we were recommended matched perfectly with the food, and the sommelier was friendly without being overwhelming, which we really appreciated. One of the chefs explaining the dishes in the middle of the meal was a Korean woman, and I really enjoyed her service, but it seems she’s no longer there. Regardless, thanks to the amazing food, atmosphere, and staff, we left with a very happy memory.

It was first time to visit Arthur and it was worth it to have an excellent experience in here. The restaurant was so cozy and warm. The service of the restaurant was very solicitous and its waiters/waitresses were all kind. All of dishes are so fresh and nice. To be honest, my friend and I are not taking oyster normally. But after eating rock oyster with sauce here, we had to order one more dish😆😆😆 From the beginning til end of the menu, I was fully enjoyed those tasty and well balanced menu! Sourdough was the best sourdough I ever had aslo😆 Furthermore, i tried the icons pairing. I loved the thing all the wines (in the icons pairing list) were from australia. The pairing was so nice and goes well with all of menu, plus, the sommelier’s pleasant explanation made it more enjoyable moment👍 The day was totally enjoyable and tasty experience:) Thanks to Arthur, we had memorable moment during our journey🙏
