We’ve eaten at apera twice. It’s a good local neighbourhood eatery in Castlecrag. The food is delicious, cooked in either the wood fired oven or the rotisserie in the open kitchen. The number of dishes on the menu is small and does seem to change regularly. We enjoyed the lamb shoulder and the roasted cabbage. There’s also a very good bar menu with a VERY good selection of Australian craft gins (and vodka). For the food I’d give 5 stars, the service is just a little lacking.

Absolutely delicious food! We had the wood fired trout with sea greens, heirloom tomatoes with smoked ricotta and a superb eggplant dish. Really yummy, unusual dishes with a fresh produce slant, served in a comfortable environment.

A local gem. The service - fantastic. The waitress was so polite, helpful and attentive - such a delight. The food was also amazing. For 4 people, we ordered the cauliflower and white bait for entrees, porchetta, rainbow trout, pipis and slaw for mains, and the apple pie and pannacotta for dessert, all to share. I could tell most of the tables around us also ordered similar. Loved every dish. Restaurant also has an extensive drinks menu. Definitely recommend this place - great for special occasions, date night, or simply because you want good food to share with friends.

Beautifully tucked in castlecrag, this place rocks freshness and clean eating. The staff are friendly and the food is just super yummy. The only thing was that we overordered and we would have appreciated a gentle nudge to tell us that we ordered way too much. No biggie, however.
