Excellent atmosphere and the large coffee is REALLY large and good coffee, too. The smashed avo with poached egg both looked and tasted great. The staff were really friendly, quick to seat us, and take orders. Recommend!

Located on Princes Hwy across the road from the Dapto mall, Amber's cafe and restaurant offers coffees and pastry treats along with breakfast and lunch meals. There are a little job food items available for sale also. Staff are friendly and quick to seat you. They are also quick to take your order via their tablets. Meals are cooked quickly and served promptly with hot drinks that were ordered. On this occasion, the breakfast options were decent enough with perfectly cooked poached eggs, crispy toast and mushrooms done al dente; though the spinach was actually rocket lettuce. The coffee was hot but didn't quite taste like coffee. Not quite sure if it was the beans or brewed to watery. The pastries, tarts and cakes in the display cabinet at the counter looked enticing. There is no surcharge on card transactions.

Had a Sunday brunch at Ambers. Lovely place inside, with a range of antique furniture spread across a number of rooms. Plenty of room unlike some places that squash you in. We had a room that had a children's toy corner where our granddaughter enjoyed herself while we ate and chatted. Lots of toys for her to run around squealing. The large coffees were, well really large. Presented in mugs the size of a small soup mug, the coffees were nice and hot. We had a variety of food, ranging from an Aussie breakfast, a vegetarian breakfast and some pancakes. All arrived hot and the food tasted fresh. All of us enjoyed the food, but it's not the most well seasoned food. I get the impression that people are a bit frightened to use salt and pepper. Salting during the cooking can add a depth of flavour. Despite that, the service is wonderful with all staff friendly and happy to oblige. A good place for a brunch or another meal, as they are open for dinner as well. Last time I was there, I had their hot chips. It's worth a trip just for them.

My pasta was good. But my partners salt and pepper squid were very salty, and the chips were soggy with lots of salt.

I've been coming to this beautiful cafe for two to three years now, before it was named Alexander's and now Amber's. I came here for Mother's Day brunch. As always, it was simply perfect. The service, the atmosphere, the spacious and comfortable dining area, and the fantastic pricing were all top-notch. The staff are always so friendly, and I love seeing people with disabilities being involved in the cafe's work. All the staff are so friendly (yes, I said that twice). I wish more cafes were like this. I can't recommend it more highly to my family and friends. And let's not forget the coffee—it's superb, the best in town! Thank you, Amber's. 🥰
