Visited this place 2 times. First, was on February last year during CNY . It was memorable dining experience, especially for this fried lamb ribs, Xinjiang style. Unfortunately I missed the chance to review last time for some reasons. My second visit today… Because golden century is opining up soon, which I’m so excited … At the same time I missed the lamb ribs 🥲 And just because they don’t want to have 2 similar dishes, they change the menu into THAI CUISINE! Personally I’m a little disappointed but I don’t mind to try their new cuisine. Wagyu beef with lychee, love the dish, to my personal liking, sauce a touch too sweet. Crispy pork was the crowd pleasure, nice crackling, amazing sauce.

Food is great. Broth is so flavourful and duck is juicy. Prawn wonton is lovely. The drinks are great. Free condiments like chilli. Staff is nice and seating is awesome

For being a Barangaroo restaurant the Crowns website talked a big game. 88 noodle restaurant was far smaller and less understated than made out by crowns strict dress codes and policies. It’s basically a small, new Chinese restaurant. The menu is not massive but a good selection and reasonably priced. ** don’t be fooled by the ‘large dishes’, they are not. We went there with a group for a birthday and chose share plates by which we ended up needing to order more as the servings were quite small. Most of the dishes did almost look and taste very similar too which was a little underwhelming (just with varying protein changes amongst them). I think this place rides the coat tails of being in the Crown mostly as it’s not a stand out like some of its neighbouring restaurants below it. If you go, do get the betel leaf entree, that is amazing.

The service and atmosphere were great, they are super accomodating to dietary requirements and the waitress had a smile the entire time, sadly, this is where the good marks end. The food was below average, everything lacked any flavour. From the edamame to the hot pot, we were left extremely disappointed by the food. Where there WAS flavour, the flavour was not nice. I hope they can do better as their location is prime 👌
