Alchemy Polish Restaurant – A Delightful Culinary Journey Alchemy Polish Restaurant on bustling Crown Street offers an authentic Polish dining experience that’s hard to beat. From the moment we arrived, the attentive and friendly wait staff made us feel welcome, seating us in a charming outdoor spot where we could soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Surry Hills. We began our meal with a refreshing Polish beer that set the tone for the evening—light, crisp, and perfectly chilled. For starters, we enjoyed the Herrings on Pumpernickel, a delightful combination of tender, marinated fish atop rich, dark bread, and the Tripe Soup, a traditional dish that was hearty, flavorful, and warming. Next came a selection of Polish dumplings, each one crafted with care. The pierogi fillings ranged from potato and cheese to sauerkraut and mushroom, and every bite was a burst of authentic flavor. The highlight of the meal, however, was the Rabbit in White Sauce. This dish was truly exceptional—tender rabbit that fell off the bone, enveloped in a creamy, buttery sauce that was both rich and comforting. It was perfectly balanced and a testament to the skill of the kitchen. Alchemy Polish Restaurant has captured the essence of Polish cuisine, offering delicious, beautifully presented dishes in a warm and inviting setting. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore authentic Polish flavors. Five stars!

My friend has been coming to this Polish restaurant for quite a while now. Last night he brought myself & another friend to come check it out. So first off the the food was amazing. The flavours were absolutely sublime & are subtly tantalising to the palate. There are some pretty good restaurants out there however I would challenge you to name even a single one that you can say when you’ve finished a fairly substantial 3 course meal that you feel quite full but not even slightly bloated. Every single ingredient is 100% natural however long before the staff told me this I figured it out myself just purely based off the flavour. Main dishes sit at around $40 roughly. Considering the food quality I would happily pay significantly more than that. Jacob the floor manager is the son of the owners & is one of the nicest, most decent, easygoing blokes you can come across. Extremely accomodating & loves looking after his customers. If ever you’re looking for a bite to eat in Surry Hills this place should definitely be at the top of your list. By the end of the night the 3 of us had spent a total of $300 & I can safely say we would’ve happily spent more if we didn’t have to head off.

I had a fantastic dinner here on Saturday night. We were seated just outside on a lovely summer evening. Server was attentive and food arrived promptly and was delicious. The pork goulash pancake was a standout. The ability to BYO wine is welcome. The restaurant has a lovely vibe and feels like a family home. Highly recommended.

Visited for a date night, which I expect most people do! The food was excellent and seemed authentic from what little experience I have from polish food. We really enjoyed the rabbit as the main, and the waitress was friendly and able to answer our questions about the dishes in advance. Overall we got four things and spent just over $100, so about $50 a head. This is probably about how much you should budget - this was about right for us!

Fantastic ambience. Great and unforgettable service. Food is authentic and fantastic. Must try the herring on pumpernickel and dumplings with the toppings! Loved this place when I first discovered it in 2017 and have come back for many special occasions.
